I dare you!

Leap Year only rolls around every 4 years, so I have a challenge for you!

Write yourself a letter or make a list of things you would like to accomplish in the next 4 years. THEN when the next February 29th rolls around in 2016, you can open up the envelope and read it!!

What do you think? Are you up for it?

Don’t spend too much time thinking about this – just whip something up, stick in an envelope, seal and put away for the next 4 years.

I’m going to write a letter in the “PRESENT” tense, as if I was writing it on February 29, 2016.

Leap over your fears of “what if I don’t accomplish?“, etc and step outside your comfort zone! You’re the only one that can decide your future. You get the opportunity to design your life. Start by taking my challenge!

Our Grade 5 class did something similar in elementary school, we buried a container and each included an item. I usually refer to something like this as a time “b” but I don’t want to type that word. With any luck, if I typed the “b” word on my website, it would crash it, be attractive to spammers or something!

I’ve always wanted to put a letter in a bottle, like you see in movies, and put it in the ocean… I “may” add it to my Bucket List, but I hate to contribute to garbage already dumped into our oceans. Hmm…

Have fun! I’d love to hear what you desire your life to look like in 4 years time!

Stay Amazing,

  1. I absolutely love this! I’m totally doing it and giving you a shout out on my blog tomorrow. Oh–and do your letter in the bottle. It’s okay to litter in that limited circumstance. :)

  2. Hi Robyn,

I like what you said: ‘You’re the only one that can decide your future.’ because it’s so true. It’s our responsibility to shape our life based on what we want. However, many people are not clear about their ‘real want’. You give a great idea so the decision process becomes natural….we can shape it on paper! Thanks this post give wings….

  3. I love this dare, Robyn. I am getting my envelope ready. How exciting!

I actually did this in college. I wrote a letter to myself telling “me” how proud I was of “me” and why. Six months later the letter arrived in the mail (a teacher mailed it). I had totally forgotten about it. Opening that letter made me cry with delight, and I put it on the fridge. Many conversations were born of it!

I am thrilled that you tied this fun task to Leap Year since it does only come around every four years.

This is a beautiful challenge, especially since I have a few “extra special” goals right now (above and beyond the short term goals), that will take a bit of time because they are so BIG!

    Love you, and love this!

    Thanks for the inspiration!
