I’m almost done my dresser DIY project! My first attempt at trying to “antique” something.
Taken without flash in my garage
It didn’t turn out exactly as I hoped – it looks a bit streaky in parts. However for my 1st big painting/redo job – I’m thrilled with the color! It was my first time using wax!? Then I used a dark cream stain – another first. If any of you pro DIY’s have any tips on how to improve, let me know. The blue/turquoise color is chalk paint, then I used a clear wax and finally the dark cream stain – all 3 from the same product line. I’ll share more on how I did this and what products I used in a final debut post when it’s done and moved into my house.
However, I need your input/opinion! Please…
I need to get new handles – but I’m stumped at what color/style I should go with?
Wrought iron? white/cream?
The holes are 4.5 inches / 10.75 cms apart – center to center. I hope that’s a normal size…guess I better get online and research!? Also, in case you’re wondering the original handles are a no go – can’t paint them or reuse – they were funky!
I appreciate your insight, thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Robyn
I like the white wrought iron idea! That or some blingy ones, which I feel like would go with your personality!
i’d go with iron…and check out anthro. next time you are at chinook…they have some pretty fab ones!!!
and have you read miss mustard seed’s how to distress paint tutorial? she’s pretty amazing!!!
