Hope all of my Canadian friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration and feast on the weekend!
(Background information for my US friends – this is the only holiday we celebrate at a different time than you!)
Lucky me, my friend Deanne reminded me “One of the best things about a Canadian marrying an American is that you get to give Thanks twice in one year. That means turkey and Pumpkin pie twice!”. Since marrying a Texan, every other year we travel south to spend American Thanksgiving with my in-loves.
I LOVE turkey and pumpkin pie – so of course I had a competition with myself to see how much I could eat! He he…
My Mom’s amazing Pumpkin Chiffon Pie!
Over the weekend, a few of our family members took in our friend’s cattle sale – Harvie Ranching. I got to hang out with my darling friend Justine.
We admired the fall decor that they used to dress up the sale barn!
In case you haven’t already seen this clever poem:
May your stuffing be tasty,
may your turkey be plump,
may your potatoes and gravy have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious and your pies take the prize,
and may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs!
Happy Thanksgiving for last weekend Canadians and in just over a month Americans! I am so grateful for your friendship and support.
Robyn
