Start with 1!

I dare you to write 1 hand written note to someone today…

How do you feel when you receive a piece of snail mail? Specifically that isn’t a check? (Thanks to one of my coaching clients, I now refer to all of my financial mail – bills, statements, etc as “checks”, just like her) I LOVE receiving special mail – it gives me butterflies.

Pay it forward today and start by writing just 1 note to someone in your life – it’ll make both of your days. It can be a just because or thank you or Happy Birthday card! I bet you’ll get addicted like me and just keep your pen going…

Happy Writing,

Lingerie

I LOVE new “pretties” (aka panties)!

Lingere

Sorry for the mental picture and to the men that may follow. Don’t run – you may learn something that will benefit your partners!! I realize imagining me in lingerie is not exactly what you wanted to envision as you were eating your lunch or drinking while enjoying a read on my blog. However – this is serious talk.

Did you know that in high school I male classmate gave me the nickname of “Wedgie Picking Queen?”

I had one of the most exciting wardrobes growing up. I was spoiled rotten, having a mother that always had me in the newest western designer jeans. In the late 90′s, I recall wearing the “in style” bareback (pocket-less back) and two colored jeans.

However – back to my story. My skin tight western styled jeans had 2 flaws with my underwear choice.

1) You could SEE the underwear lines!! (Horrifying!)

2) It was really uncomfortable and despite the fact that I was a cutie wearing these pants – I was coined the “Wedgie Picking Queen” because I secretly (obviously not a good hider) tried to get my “wedgie” out without my peers seeing me. Mission – unsuccessful.

I think one day I’m going to publish a book and call it – “Things I wish my Mom would have told me!”

I present a toast, to the creators of thongs! Mmm…I wonder who invented them.

Here’s to cute, comfortable, colorful thongs (or panties)! Ting! (our virtual glasses touching)

I LOVE buying a new pair (or two…or whatever the sale is – 5 for….) of pretties to add to my life.

There is an awesome feeling about opening up your drawer and deciding which pair of adorable, comfortable pair you’re going to wear today. Is it just me or do you color coordinate your pretties with the clothes you’re wearing?

I challenge you to discard one pair of underwear from your life TODAY – you know the ones in your drawer that you never wear, for whatever reason AND replace them with a NEW amazing pair!!

If you’re feeling really generous – I dare you to also pickup a pair for your best friend, sister, mother, someone special in your life that would appreciate this gesture also and deserves it!

Male readers – if you’re still with me – this is the part where you come in. (Hint hint – forward the link to this blog to your partners!! Be sure to include a P.S. I prefer ___ (thongs, boy cut, full brief, etc) and am a size ___ – unmentionables tend to be a final sale) Instead of stopping to buy a bouquet of flowers spontaneously, stop at a store and buy your partner a pair of pretties!! I realize it isn’t Valentines – but that’s the point. “Just because” gifts are equally, if not more important – in my opinion.

Have an amazing day!

Live Inspired,

Do you?

I have learned many amazing things from my wonderful husband. A big one is to keep my belongings clean, not only to help maintain their value but also to boost your self-respect and the image you portray to others around you.

Therefore, we often make dates out of going to the car wash and cleaning out the inside of our vehicles. We’re dorks, I realize!

So my question is:

Do YOU keep your vehicle clean?

You know that it only takes time and a couple dollars.

Would you be embarrassed of your car if someone you look up to or your idol needed a ride – RIGHT NOW?

I realize I don’t have children yet, however I have a nephew and nieces and I realize they throw food and things all over. I travel lots and my car can get out of hand very easily. However, it’s a decision to MAKE time to clean it out!

This also reminds me of a blog post John wrote for FarmOn.com called Look Who’s Coming.

A rule I’m going to ask you follow – PLEASE clean up after yourself and neatly put the wand and hose away after you use!

No one likes finding the car wash this way…

…however that doesn’t give you an excuse to leave it like this! Pay it forward…please.

Happy Cleaning,

$12.52

While returning from lunch today, I heard a radio advertistement for Wendy’s and their new Real Value Menu – which included $1.49 Frosty’s!! I thought about the calories in one of these ice cream treats for about 1 second AND then made a quick detour to the new Wendy’s close to the college.

I returned with 8 delightful treats for a few coworkers & I!

It was the best way I could have spent $12.52 today!

Happy Monday,

Breakfast Date

I met my fantastic friend Margaret this morning for an awesome Breakfast Date!

I met this beautiful lady through 4H just over 2 years ago (seems like we’ve know each other much longer). Her 4 kids were part of the 4H club that John & I helped with and we just connected on a wicked energy level right away.

We enjoyed our chat and enjoyed the Casino Lethbridge’s $4.95 Breakfast Special (cheap & fantastic)!

As we got our money together to pay, I realized that we were about to leave a really big tip. I make a point of tipping at least 15% if not 20%, however we had $7 out for the waiter on a $12 bill.

Margaret smiled and reminded me, “We’re paying it forward!”

I absolutely agreed. Then Margaret gave me a funny look; I could tell she had a “on second thought” going through her mind and blurted out TODAY is Pay It Forward Day! She recalled receiving a message about it from her sister. I didn’t know such a day existed – but wasn’t surprised – especially after I learned about National Clean Off Your Desk Day.

Margaret and I reflected on random times when we had paid it forward spontaneously by paying for the coffee for people in the drive thru line behind us and other examples.

After I got back to my office – I discovered that it is indeed International Pay It Forward Day – the last Thursday in April. SO cool!

pay it forward day

Now, I’m scheming how I can continue to celebrate today – April 29th!

What have you done to pay it forward OR had done to you today OR another day??

Robyn

P.S. REMEMBER to enter the Hide Your Straps contest – the deadline is tomorrow (Friday) night!

Gorgeous Gift

At the Beazley’s we love to entertain – more importantly we LOVE to fellowship with family and friends. On Monday night we had our friends Lisa, Richard and their cute son Gabriel over for supper.

Friends

Our amazing friends brought us an absolutely gorgeous gift! This beautiful plant just had one bloom when they brought to our home and in 2 days, the flowers have become simply gorgeous.

OrangeLilly

We’re so blessed by this simple gesture – it’s completely brightened our home. I’m excited to pay it forward.

Who’s day can you brighten today?

Hugs,
Robyn

I should have bought a sheep yesterday at the 4H sale. It’s been a wild week and our lawn didn’t get the attention that it usually does. From the house & deck the grass in the backyard didn’t look this bad! Then I got the lawn mower out and it almost got lost in the pasture, I mean lawn!

I thought about leaving it until John came home later this week. My fantastic fast talking Auctioneer flew to Vancouver Island this morning for a sale. I was very envious when he sent me the view from his balcony! I am imagining the sound he is hearing as he goes to sleep…

Back to my exciting afternoon. I wonder how tall the field would have been when he returned to mow? My amazing husband used to own a landscaping business. He is very particular about how the grass is cut. Straight lines and precision are expected. Every time the lawn is mowed, we do it a different direction to avoid having the same lines.

Well, since I let the backyard get out of hand, I had to dump out the bag every couple passes!

House Rule: Mmm…John’s rule, the lawn mower must be washed off after every use. I appreciate that our belongings are taken care of, kept clean, and able to hold their value. The picture of under the mower is taken “BEFORE”!

I had an interesting realization this afternoon. I was mowing our front lawn and a couple unfamiliar ladies rode their bikes past. I said “Hi” and they stopped to ask me a question. One lady made a unique comment about the fact that I was “mowing more than just our own lawn”. I replied “Yes, our neighbors and us take turns mowing. In the winter we also shovel each others walks quite often”. This lady was shocked! You may be also, but we are used to it. John and I don’t see much point in mowing half of the lawn. Our yard looks beautiful when its all groomed at the same time.

Since we travel quite a bit, we love knowing that if we’re gone – that our lawn in the summer or sidewalk and drive in the winter is taken care of. Our neighbors are gone lots also, so we just Pay It Forward.

I dare you to surprise someone in your life – with a kind gesture. It’s so nice waking up to the snow removed in the winter or a beautiful yard to drive up to.

I’m off to get clean.

Cheers, Miss Green – I’m absolutely covered.
