Vacation Read

After posting the trailer for the Eat, Pray, Love movie and reading your comments to my confession about not reading the book yet, I dug out my copy. I packed 4 books for my vacation – in hindsight I was a bit ambitious!

I re-started to read Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert the first day of my vacation. I was in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX airport waiting on my husband to fly in.

I happened to be enjoying lunch at T.G.I.Fridays, with a Southwest Chicken Salad and “Texas Tea” – unsweetened that I add Sweet ‘n Low to! This pretty pink empty package went on to my bookmark.

I’m a slow reader and enjoyed a few pages nearly every day of my vacation.

I finished off the book early this afternoon on my deck, while enjoying the long August weekend at home! Eat, Pray, Love was an AMAZING book – I’m so glad I went back and re-read it in a different head space.

I find it amusing that I started & finished the book eating a salad!

One of my summer favorites - spinach, strawberries (or mandarin orange segments), feta cheese with creamy poppy seed dressing.

I’m now even more excited about watching the movie that debuts in 2 weeks after reading the book. I realize that movies don’t do a perfect job of capturing all of the details that the book offers – however I’m excited to watch Julia Roberts play Liz, listen to the uplifting tunes (bound to be awesome based on the trailer synopsis’) and experience the gorgeous scenery the movie was filmed in.

Have you read the book Eat, Pray, Love? Are you eager to watch it on movie also?

Hope you’re having a fabulous August long weekend (Canadians) & weekend (American & International followers!).

Eat Pray Love

I love being inspired!

This morning, I learned something really cool from a comment my friend Tiffany made on a blog that I follow. The post and comment were about the book, Eat, Pray, Love.

Tiffany shared that it is going to debut as a movie this summer! I started to read this book about a year and a half ago and honestly put it to the side before finishing (I recently heard that the first 23 pages determine whether you’re going to read the whole book or not!).

This new movie features one of my favorite actresses – Julia Roberts (love Pretty Woman and many others). The storyline looks awesome and makes me want to read the rest of the book before the movie opens!

I watched this trailer on Elizabeth Gilbert’s website and got shivers. It looks like it’s going to be an amazing movie!

For someone addicted to personal growth and committed to investing in myself for the rest of my life – this may be the ultimate movie!!

A NEW movie trailer with more scenes, was just released on Facebook – I posted it on my Business Fan Page HERE!

I would absolutely pick up my entire life and live out of a suitcase for an entire year – exploring the world that is in our backyard. Would you?

7: Swept off my feet by a Texan

Our hotel room door opened and my breath was taken away. John had outdone himself. Deep reds and orange hues decorated the room. It had a spacious living room and a huge dining table. One entire wall of windows overlooked the Riverwalk. I’m convinced it was one of the best views in San Antonio!

I quickly observed the only bed – a massive King bed with a stunning canopy overhead. It was something I would imagine royalty to have in their castles.

I had a million thoughts running through my mind. Was I Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman”? What did John have planned? What was expected of me? Yikes!

I was determined that despite the drastic change in how I envisioned the trip to go, it was going to be more amazing than I envisioned. My kind, innocent Texan was attempting to sweep me off my feet.

John suggested we go for a walk and explore the famous Riverwalk. I was relieved that I had bought a dress earlier that day, that I could ‘slip’ into. After we freshened up we went exploring.
