Don’t Prefer

One of my least favorite words is the “H” word.

HATE.

It’s very cold and negative. Please try not to use it around me! He he…

I only tolerate positive energy!! Of course – everyone is allowed the “odd” 24 hour pity party – but that’s it. No more than that.

Where am I going with this? Many of you wonder just how I stay so positive – one secret is that I keep my energy level as high as I can by using the term “Don’t Prefer” instead of the “H” word.

Today – I was reminded of one of my “Don’t Prefer” things. I read my brother-in-love, Craig’s Facebook status and it amused me! He is one of the funniest guys I know - his status updates and humor can make your day. I’ll share in a minute what he said - but first a bit of background information.

When I married my amazing man – it became apparent that I would need to learn more about men very quickly.

Rule 1 in our home.Put BOTH parts of the toilet seat must be left down. That is at the “equal” state. If both are left up – it favors John. If one part of the seat is left down, it favors me.

When you’re a woman – you observe different parts of the toilet and how dirty they can become! I tend to notice the leftover liquid marks in front of the toilet on the tile – my blood pressure used to raise quite a bit. I question – why don’t men use toilet paper for #1? I try to recall when the last time I mentioned this “don’t prefer” topic with him.

Well…I learned a bit more about men today – with Craig’s Facebook status:

“No matter how much you dance or how much you prance the last drop always ends up in your pants.”

OR when you have a master ensuite - there aren’t always pants worn to absorb that. Lovely…

My solution for the future - leave a mop in the bathroom? install a different color of tile in our next home!? Stop looking down?

The purpose of my blog post – to share another snippet of how I think. I always look for the positive, laughter, and excitement in every situation. Many times – there is no point in getting upset or requesting multiple times for improvement. Lots of things are just going to happen. “Patients” is a virtue!

To my non-married friends – don’t let this scare you. Surprising, as a women we bring a lot more to the table for the guys to conform to then we end up putting up with!

Happy Day,
Robyn

8: Swept off my feet by a Texan

After a beautiful walk along the Riverwalk we returned to our palace. In effort to avoid the awkwardness of what should happen next, I decided to unwind with a bath.

After my relaxing experience in the modern bathroom, I put on my pyjamas. When I came out, I was shocked to see a silver platter sitting on the dining room table. After I picked my jaw off the floor again – John informed me that he ordered us room service.

Under the classy silver cover, unveiled a huge ice cream sundae with chocolate syrup, whip cream and two cherries on top. This dessert was accompanied by two glasses of orange juice in long stemmed glasses. (Note – I wasn’t “21″ the magic drinking age in the USA and my date didn’t drink!)

What was this man trying to do? Seduce me?

What are you doing Friday night?

I got this fantastic email from my friend Dana today and wanted to share it with you! I did a quick Google search and found out that it is real – he he - results here. Even if it wasn’t – I’m ALL over it.

Just thought you should all be aware that Friday January 8th is …

National Bubble Bath Day !!!!

So enjoy your soak and the wine that goes with it on Friday after our first full week back to reality.

I love it!! Insight on this national holiday.I just so happen to be doing an Arbonne Foot Soak and Wellness Session with 40 youth girls from our church Friday evening. After the excitement and a house to myself (hubby will be gone doing a presentation) – I’m quite sure that I’ll be able to celebrate this holiday with a bottle of Shiraz.

Are YOU going to celebrate this fabulous holiday?

7: Swept off my feet by a Texan

Our hotel room door opened and my breath was taken away. John had outdone himself. Deep reds and orange hues decorated the room. It had a spacious living room and a huge dining table. One entire wall of windows overlooked the Riverwalk. I’m convinced it was one of the best views in San Antonio!

I quickly observed the only bed – a massive King bed with a stunning canopy overhead. It was something I would imagine royalty to have in their castles.

I had a million thoughts running through my mind. Was I Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman”? What did John have planned? What was expected of me? Yikes!

I was determined that despite the drastic change in how I envisioned the trip to go, it was going to be more amazing than I envisioned. My kind, innocent Texan was attempting to sweep me off my feet.

John suggested we go for a walk and explore the famous Riverwalk. I was relieved that I had bought a dress earlier that day, that I could ‘slip’ into. After we freshened up we went exploring.

Wow – talk about patience!! This is very cool.

Texas Christmas

John and I are SUPER excited to be Texas bound on Thursday morning. Only 3 more sleeps…

It’ll be fun to be part of our niece Alexis’ first Christmas.

Alexis with Santa

John had a blast wrapping Alexis & Sloan’s Christmas gifts. His thought was that they needed something easy to grab and tear open ;) He left it open, loose, and saggy like this!

Wrapping Gifts

Have fun sharing the joy of life with others! Merry Christmas.

Where did it go?

WOW!! Where did the past 5 weeks go.

Quick update on what’s been shaking in my world.

Took in a day of Farmfair – a livestock show in Edmonton, AB.

I thought these family friend’s were so cute & keen.

Keen Kids

I also got to see and visit with a few of my favorite lady friends – all Copper West contributors. THANK YOU!

Farmfair Divas

I can’t remember the last time I was the “tall” one!?

From left to right – Stacy (check out her blog!), Deanne (sweetly asked me to speak at the conference she organized), Laura (my bestie!), Justine (check our her blog too!), Me (feeling very tall!).

On my way back south – I was able to see two wonderful women – Twila & Carlene! Always such an inspiring visit with 2 very entrepreneurial divas.

Twila, Carlene & I

10 days latter, my wicked friend Twila celebrated her 30th with an epic slogan T-shirt bash. It was a blast!

We celebrated American Thanksgiving the 3rd Thursday of November – with our friend Mike.

Thanksgiving

We ate a LOT! Our “meat” that was not photographed, was Chicken Fried Steak. Oh, we devoured our southern favorites.

Top to bottom – homemade macaroni & cheese (made with Velveeta), mashed potatoes – loaded, green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing, with pecan pie for dessert!

 Thanksgiving Feast   Pecan Pie

John was gone for the better part of 3 weeks with work - so my bestie Laura & I spontaneously took a trip to Las Vegas to take in the 3 huge western trade shows that are open during the National Finals Rodeo!!

Vegas

 That’s 5 weeks in a nutshell ;)

Thanks for continuing to visit my blog – I’m so lucky that you’ve returned after my 5 week “break”!

Seasons Greetings!!
