“Patients” is a virtue!

If you’ve seen my list of “categories” and saw “Patients” is a virtue or when I referred to the phrase in a blog entry – such as “Don’t Prefer“, you may have raised an eyebrow at my spelling. I wanted to explain myself.

This “saying” came from my amazing hubby! Patience is a talent that tests all of us daily and that requires us to constantly practice to improve. For as long as I can remember, whenever I kindly remind John that “patience is a virtue”, he always responds the same way:

“Doctors have patients!!”

Smarty pants I thought to myself – so this is why I write this phrase with the different “patients”! Next time someone provides you with constructive criticism try out the new comeback.

Don’t Prefer

One of my least favorite words is the “H” word.

HATE.

It’s very cold and negative. Please try not to use it around me! He he…

I only tolerate positive energy!! Of course – everyone is allowed the “odd” 24 hour pity party – but that’s it. No more than that.

Where am I going with this? Many of you wonder just how I stay so positive – one secret is that I keep my energy level as high as I can by using the term “Don’t Prefer” instead of the “H” word.

Today – I was reminded of one of my “Don’t Prefer” things. I read my brother-in-love, Craig’s Facebook status and it amused me! He is one of the funniest guys I know - his status updates and humor can make your day. I’ll share in a minute what he said - but first a bit of background information.

When I married my amazing man – it became apparent that I would need to learn more about men very quickly.

Rule 1 in our home.Put BOTH parts of the toilet seat must be left down. That is at the “equal” state. If both are left up – it favors John. If one part of the seat is left down, it favors me.

When you’re a woman – you observe different parts of the toilet and how dirty they can become! I tend to notice the leftover liquid marks in front of the toilet on the tile – my blood pressure used to raise quite a bit. I question – why don’t men use toilet paper for #1? I try to recall when the last time I mentioned this “don’t prefer” topic with him.

Well…I learned a bit more about men today – with Craig’s Facebook status:

“No matter how much you dance or how much you prance the last drop always ends up in your pants.”

OR when you have a master ensuite - there aren’t always pants worn to absorb that. Lovely…

My solution for the future - leave a mop in the bathroom? install a different color of tile in our next home!? Stop looking down?

The purpose of my blog post – to share another snippet of how I think. I always look for the positive, laughter, and excitement in every situation. Many times – there is no point in getting upset or requesting multiple times for improvement. Lots of things are just going to happen. “Patients” is a virtue!

To my non-married friends – don’t let this scare you. Surprising, as a women we bring a lot more to the table for the guys to conform to then we end up putting up with!

I want to inform you that I’m not perfect and I am behind!

There it is – now out and in the open. I’m human. I often want to be a superwoman with a red breasted suit and fly through life doing everything that I want in our 24 hour days. However, reality sets in often. american_robin

My sweet, caring husband reminded me at least 4 times last weekend that I haven’t replied to comments you wrote to blog entries or responded to action steps that you kindly requested. I apologize.

I’m sorry for not responding to each of your AMAZING comments more punctually. I will very soon. I LOVE reading each of them and am from this moment forward, will allocate time in my schedule to “Reply to Comments”. This is part of my skill developing efforts and my desire to connect with each of you. I absolutely love receiving your kind words, desire for more information, and individual answers to questions I ask!

THANK YOU for following my adventures. This blog has been so much fun to develop the past 7 months and I’m overwhelmed by your support. I’m excited just imagining what it will look like in another 7 months!

Living Room Decor

Hope you’re having an amazing day!! On the weekend, John and I had a work bee to clean, condition, and protect our leather furniture. It is really a task you have to work yourself up to and we find it most exciting to do together, while dancing around to music. We get around to doing it once a year, however I’m sure its recommended to do it more regularly! There is a narrow window of engaging my husband to do any task, before he is ready to do something new and interesting! I’m sure many of you can relate to this – with your partners, as I’m convinced that it is showcased in males more than females!

Cleaning Bee!

After we finished doing our maintenance job on our furniture, we re-arranged!! My husband is a very opinionated. He isn’t the type to just let something happen, he is very interested in having an active role in the decision making and loves the game ”I Win”! (Who doesn’t I try and remind him

Our living room has been arranged the same way for over a year, since the day we moved in!! SO I vetoed his ruling and made the change! John still had to be part of the final say, so his change was to remove the cowhide from the floor! We’re both still adjusting and I have a sneaky suspicion that the next time I go away, that he will change again!

I would love to get YOUR opinion on the new arrangement!
