My way or the highway

Ha ha – I’m not that much of a hag (I don’t think)!!

I was giggling out loud AT (compared to “with”) my husband, driving down the highway this weekend. For 2.5 years I’ve been the main driver of our Volkswagen Jetta. We recently added an SUV to our fleet, so we’re sharing vehicles now.

I got into our car on Saturday and had to laugh. My husband had the car for a mere 2 days and had changed lots of features!

My loving husband set the speed warning a long time ago! However, EVERY time it goes off – I think of him. I thought you’d get a kick out of this. Does your vehicle have this feature? Have you or someone in your life “set” it to warn you of speeding?

If you’ll notice the “time” in this picture, I typically set my clock 20 minutes fast. I know that I’m not the only women (I mean person) that does this – right? John reset the clock to the EXACT time. Hmm… SO I changed it to 10 minutes fast – I’m going to make a game out of this!!

When you publish a book and also record it – you pray everything will go off without a hitch. Well, all I can say is every experience makes us stronger. I’ve learned SO much about a brand new industry, while getting these tracks ready.

Shine

In 6 days, I will be arriving in Las Vegas!! It just happens to be one of my favorite cities. (Here is fun post about my last trip to the Bright Lights!! I’m going to attend the SHINE Event with my friend Twila.

I registered just about a year ago to attend after following Ali Brown on social media. I am SO pumped that it’s almost here. We’ll spend a day and a half sightseeing and enjoying a bit warmer weather. Then we’ll be sponges for 3 intense days of sessions and guest speakers at the gorgeous Wynn hotel.

With a new bundle of joy on route, my goal is to learn new ways to leverage my time and work more efficiently in power sessions as a Mom!

When you stop learning, you stop living. I love to invest in myself and personally grow! As I mention in my book, Live an Amazing Life, there are many opportunities to develop your skills and work on yourself in your own backyard – that are free and reasonably priced.

Recording Artist

I am now a “recording artist”!!

I spent a few hours at the L.A. Studio Productions last night recording my book – Live an Amazing Life! I LOVED every moment of it.

The booth door stayed close while I was recording. This is just me practicing!

It’s really quiet with the foam insulation – all you hear is yourself.

This is where all the magic happens. Brad sits here and mixes everything. Whenever I had a blooper (mispronounced word, etc) – we’d start over from the paragraph or sentence.

The final product of this process will be the Audio Program – available in CD & MP3 format.

I’ll be returning tonight to finish the second half. As soon as I can – I’ll post a clip of the recording for you to hear!

Creative Place

Happy Sunday!

This afternoon, I had John drop me off at Starbucks while he went to the gym for a workout.

I went for a 5km run with him this morning and that was where (I currently) draw the line for aggressive daily activity!

By leaving my house, I felt that I could unleash my creativity. I had a feeling a cat nap might be the only thing I successfully completed this afternoon, if I was left home alone!

Do you have a place where you escape to, to be creative sometimes?
