Waxing Facial Hair? Advice please…

Can we please have a discussion about facial hair and waxing??

Yes, you read correctly!!

It’s been brought to my attention that I should consider waxing some lovely upper lip hair! Well, no one blatantly told me – I may have been curious and “asked” a close friend to shed her opinion.

In particular the hair is more noticeable in my dimples / smile lines!

I get my eye brows waxed – not regularly – but whenever I’m at the right place at the right time and remember.

To be completely honest, I’m scared that if I do get my upper lip hair – that is barely dark – it will grow in THICK and dark!!!

Are you willing to share any insight with me?? I would really appreciate it!!

Another friend was telling me about her recent experience with threading. Have you tried that?

Why you may ask am I blogging about this? Because I think that being confident and always holding ourselves accountable to our personal appearance, both contribute to living an amazing life!

Look forward to your opinions and advice!!

From the woman with a hairier upper lip that she ever knew,

Planning!

I’m about 13 months away from my big 3-0 Birthday!! My wonderful friend Twila had a 30th Birthday bash with a “Slogan Tshirt” theme. I had a shirt made that said “amazing“!! The evening was fabulous – with a band, snacks, bar, dancing and tons of fun!

I’ve been thinking a lot about having a party in celebration of this milestone also! Initially I thought I wanted a surprise Birthday! I LOVE surprises…I told my husband this,

“I’d LOVE for you to have a Surprise 30th Birthday Party for me!” I exclaimed

“It isn’t a surprise if you know about it!?” was his lame response

“Well, you have over a year to plan it – so it will be a surprise!” I replied

Then I started to think – maybe I don’t want a surprise. I’m a planner and like to be involved in the details. With Event Coordinator/Planner experience, I’ve become a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to event details! I want to be part of who is invited, etc.

So now, I’m dreaming up what an “ideal” 30th Birthday party looks like to me…

Today I got inspired by a gorgeous wedding that I came across online!! (Thanks to The Farmers Trophy Wife for including one of Bailey’s pics in her Color post). Bailey the bride, has a blog called Peppermint Bliss. There were 3 parts to her wedding and each had their own theme and were decorated extravagantly!! Clearly my wedding budget was much smaller than this gorgeous lady.

I found this cool picture collages of their wedding on Style Me Pretty. They have thousands of really neat Inspiration Boards!

Her Welcome Reception was western themed:

The Wedding had a rustic, outdoor feel:

AND my favorite the “Willa Wonka-meets-Alice in Wonderland” inspired After Party with outrageously beautiful colors!!!!

Enjoy checking out their pictures!

Back to planning my bash in my mind…What do you think I should do? Have you ever planned your own Birthday party? What theme would you go with?

Cheers,

5 Love Languages

Shaking the dust off an old post!

I wrote this blog post 3 years ago (originally posted March 16, 2009):

I was talking to a girlfriend about her Valentines and it dawned on me that we need to chat about the 5 Love Languages!  It’s a book that is absolutely amazing! If you’re a keener and can’t wait for me to discuss them all, visit your local bookstore or online used store OR even better borrow a copy from a friend to reveal your Love Language and your partners!  If you do anything, go on a date to the Book Store and do the quiz in the back of the book!!

My friend really wanted flowers for the special romantic Hallmark holiday and he made plans to take her for dinner! In his defense it wasn’t in his budget to do both, another lesson – we need to educate the men of the world that Costco, Wal Mart and other fab places sell flowers cheap -  bottom line – they are going to wilt away in time!!  OK – back to my point!

I quickly identified that her love language was Gifts – not a bad thing – that was just her desire for this occasion AND his was Quality Time or Act of Service  – kind of a combo!  I’m going to help you discover the 5 Love Languages shortly!  The key to an amazing relationship is effective communication – to discover what satisfies each other. I don’t have just 1 Love Language but a combination of 3 ;) and none were what my hubby anticipated for the quiz!!

NOW (February 2012):

In my Living an Amazing Life ezine this month (subscribe today), I recorded a vlog (video blog) talking about this book.

I also just discovered that you can do the QUIZ online!!

Enjoy discovering your love language(s).

Stay Amazing,

Blow your hair back wicked!

One of my favorite things to do is watch the annual Victoria Secret Fashion Show. This year I had full intentions of watching it when it aired on TV Tuesday, but my plans changed. Thankfully I was able to watch this awesome YouTube.com video of the ENTIRE show! I loved the costumes, music, decor, everything was SO amazing – it motivated me even more to run towards my dreams!!

While watching the show I got inspired and creative. I tore apart some outdated business aids instead of simply recycling them. I love finding a new use for things!! How do you get inspired and pumped up??

WARNING – the fashion show is addicting. If you push play below, whatever you’re doing right now – will be put on hold for 44 minutes!!

On my BUCKET LIST: To attend a Victoria Secret Fashion Show in person at the LIVE recording!!

Live Inspired,

P.S. I’ve blogged about a previous VS Fashion Show before featuring the song Amazing by Seal.

Cowgirl, sports loving, Attorney from NM!

This post is for Kelly’s Korner “Show Us Your Life – Show us Your Singles”!! This entry showcasing our friend Tiffany, is a collaboration of 5 friends from 3 states and 2 countries that are blessed to be friends with this phenomenal bachelorette. Please comment or email me at info@robynbeazley.com – if you are interested in our friend.

Tiffany is in her mid-20s and from New Mexico! As a successful lawyer by day and ranch girl at heart – her outgoing personality radiates from her soul. Her chosen career far from defines this fire cracker! She LOVES sports (football in particular) – she would make a fantastic sports anchor one day! Extremely loyal to her alma mater, OSU – she loves the Pokes and red dirt music. From chic business clothes during the week to horseback and raising show sheep on the weekend – she is absolutely irresistible. Tiffany is an avid blogger, loves to travel, run and is passionate about God, her family, and friends. I trust that you may know the perfect man for our cowgirl, sports loving, friend!

Tiffany loves to travel!

More Tiffany details!

Kristin: Going on a 10+ year friendship with Tiffany, my favorite qualities of hers are that she is amazingly loyal and fiercely passionate about life. Among those, she is also dedicated to those around her, she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty, and she loves sports! {seriously boys, she’s a catch!}

Tiffany – being a bridesmaid in Kristin’s wedding

Sara: All the girls have pretty much summed up Tiff! She is one of my dearest friends and am very lucky for that! We met in college (check out my guest blog entry to read the full story) and have been besties ever since. She is an amazingly sweet and kind girl, who loves god and her family. I would say sports are her favorite hobby. I’m lucky to be apart of her life and you would be to!

Amy: Tiffany and I went to high school together, and when we wound up going to the same college (Go Pokes!), we decided to try our luck as roommates. SUCCESS! Four-plus years post-graduation, Tiff is the best friend a girl could ask for. Compassionate and loyal, intelligent and kind, gregarious and hard-working. I can attest that Tiff is clean, organized, and always pays her bills on time (important traits, am I right?)! She’s awesome and deserves a guy who is as amazing as she is. Know anyone?

Lyndse: What is there not to say about Tiff? Robyn said it right, this gal is for sure a firecracker. Always coming and going and always has a smile on her face. Tiffany and I met at college…OSU. Go Pokes!! These girls aren’t kidding when they say Tiff loves football. She probably knows more about football than most guys. I now know everything there is to know about football, thanks to Tiff. She is fun loving, passionate about God, hard worker, family orientated, cares deeply about her friends, loves Red dirt music, concerts, running and can chat for hours. Seriously guys, this girl is one of a kind. You would be so lucky to have her in your life.

Robyn (this is posted on my blog!): Our paths luckily passed, when we attended college together in Kansas. Tiffany and I created many memories being the only 2 women on our Livestock Judging team! Despite living over 3000 miles apart now, Tiffany goes above & beyond to stay in touch. She is one of the most thoughtful, successful people I have ever met. Tiffany deserves to be swept off her feet! I hope you or someone you know wants to get to know Tiffany – as she truly makes every day amazing!

My tarps arrived!

In 3 weeks, I will have my toes in the sand, laying in the sunshine, drinking fruity drinks with umbrellas – minus the alcohol!! I am BEYOND excited because I love hot weather and looking forward to escaping with my husband.

When this trip came up, I started to wonder what I was going to wear. I went searching for “tarps” (as my sister coined pregnancy bathing suits). I found a nice one at Thyme Maternity for around $75, THEN found the jackpot online!

Target had an amazing selection of maternity bathing suits from the Liz Lange collection. I wouldn’t have thought to look there, until I had heard Liz Lange speak at the SHINE Conference I attended in November.

Well, I just got my package and it was like Christmas – opening it up!!

For less than $50 US, I got ALL 5 of these pieces!! They fit fabulous – covering my growing belly. One question I have though, I am puzzled at why none of them are designed with under-wires!? I’m planning to go and visit my seamstress this week and see if we can add them, because my girls need all the help they can get!!

In case you’re looking for me in a couple weeks, I’ll be the gorgeous whale at the ocean! Have to always look at life from a positive angle ;)

Live Inspired,
