Awesome Aunt in training

Today my son Braxton and I are hanging out with my nephew Sloan, niece Harper and sister Rayel.

Sloan is almost 3 and Harper is just over 9 months old! All 3 kids play really well together. We’re so blessed to live closer to one of our families now – Braxton loves time with his cousins!

I have a couple exciting projects planned for Sloan and I to complete!

This is what we’re going to make for lunch:

I discovered it on Pinterest!!

We’re also going to try our luck at a Milk Carton Bird Feeder craft. The dream would be it will look like this one:

However, the reality is our creation will be as authentic as this:

I saw an example of one at our local library! I even bought a carton of milk versus a plastic jug – with Sloan in mind!

Hope you have a tremendous day!!

Awesome Aunt in the works,

99 year difference

I’m beyond excited that my husband & son are in Texas this weekend, celebrating John’s Great Grandpa’s 100th Birthday!!! What an incredible milestone. Papa’s Birthday is tomorrow, March 4th and the BIG bash with family and closer friends is today at his home! Yes, he still lives in his house in Dallas – incredible.

Even though Braxton is only 1, he’s met Papa a few times in our trips to Texas the past year. We will treasure these pictures we captured in the summer forever:

This portrait hangs on a wall in Papa’s house – what a stunning business man in his time! His life has been full of success and abundance. He’s lived an amazing life!

Happy 100th Birthday Papa!

Cheers,

Braxton Dewey

Braxton Dewey Beazley! Our son surprised us with an early arrival on February 4, 2011 at 3:14pm. Braxton was 7 weeks early, as he was due March 25th!  Pushing down the scale at 2lbs 11oz and was 15 1/4 inches long.

It’s been nearly6 months since Braxton was born and many people have asked “what happened”? Here is our “Baby Story” (reminds me of the TLC show)!

The day before Braxton was born, I started to experience stomach pressure/pain. Originally I thought I had the flu and hung out with my trusty 1st trimester friends – Ginger Ale and saltine crackers! Once I discovered I could keep food down, I did eat a couple meals. I spent the day sleeping on the couch and in bed, I took a bath and 2 showers, and took Tylenol faithfully. I was supposed to go to my Prenatal Aquafit class that night, but when we were headed I told John that he was welcome to still go work out but I didn’t feel up to swimming. We returned home and watched a movie. I couldn’t get comfortable and I couldn’t sleep once we went to bed (not uncommon for pregnant women).

I assumed I was just having an “off” day that comes with pregnancy. At 1:30am I called HealthLink (a service in Alberta where you can call & talk to an RN), simply to see if they could suggest ideas to reduce my pressure or a stiffer pain medication because all pregnant women are allowed is Tylenol. The nurse took my symptoms and suggested I go to the hospital and get checked out.

I woke up John and by 2:00am Friday morning, we arrived at the Lethbridge hospital. I thought our middle of the night trip was simply to get more potent pain medication and was shocked to be diagnosed with HELLP syndrome (high blood pressure & my liver was shutting down – more details on this diagnosis). Reading about the other symptoms of my diagnosis after having Braxton, I looked back and discovered that I started to experience a few of them a week before he was born. Including bloody nose, dizziness and headaches – however, I had just brushed them off.

7 week journey!

Hi friends,

Braxton is HOME!!!!! We brought him home last night and our first night was absolutely amazing. He is an angel and let me sleep a lot! Life IS perfect.

Ironically, I made this video – just 3 hours before we went back to the hospital to sweet talk our Dr & when he was discharged!! I made it to share a bit of our journey in the NICU and 3 tips for those going through a challenging experience.

Thank you SO much for your love, support, and positive thoughts – they are felt every day!

Hugs,

Happy St Patrick’s Day

Hey amazing followers,

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Hope today is lucky and brings you good favor for the rest of the year.

I dare you to make a wish AND commitment to yourself, to make your life MORE amazing!

When I thought of  “green” photo to share on St. Patrick’s Day – this picture instantly came to mind! I just melt looking at him in this tiny little green dinosaur sleeper.

Our new son is getting bigger, stronger, and more mature by the day. His homecoming (from the NICU) is on the horizon – fingers crossed!

I look forward to finishing up the 13 Giveaways…one day soon ;) My days are filled with Braxton right now. He is awake more and loves attention – so my focus is helping him mature and grow with quality Mommy time! Thanks for understanding and being patient with me.

Live Inspired,

Surprise!

Our son, Braxton Dewey Beazley, was born Feb 4. He was a bit early & will need some TLC in NICU for awhile.

We appreciate your thoughts & prayers and need lots of recovery time before we have visitors.

The 13 Giveaways will continue soon. Thanks for participating and patiently waiting!

Love,
Robyn, John & Braxton

Blue!

We are expecting our first bundle of joy at the end of March! I know that many of you have heard this news, but I was reminded today that not everyone who “follows” my blog may be my Facebook friend or Twitter buddy and read my announcement.

I have no plans to make the Living an Amazing Life blog a Mom site or play by play as a new parent. However, I will share glimpses of my journey with you – as I know that this new chapter will inspire many new blog entries and probably a new book one day!

It seems that God has a sense of humor – as we’re having a BOY! He he – just joking! I envisioned having a little princess as I have the most amazing girl name picked out, however it will have to be saved for another pregnancy. We’re excited to welcome a healthy baby to our life, no matter what its gender is. My husband has a permanent grin on his face – since learning that it is a boy!!

The first half of my pregnancy has been fabulous! I had the very common “less than ideal” symptoms my first trimester. I concluded that I can’t complain – as many women get much sicker than me AND it is self-inflicted illness! It was a really good thing that I committed publicly to doing the 30 Day Challenge in August, because you probably wouldn’t have seen any new content for about 6 weeks! Oh the excitement of being prego – thankfully my blog kept me accountable during that time.

Here is a picture of me at 20 weeks! I am SO glad that I started running before we conceive; my new healthy lifestyle has allowed me to keep feeling “hot & thin” (it’s all mental!) while growing my bump.

Cheers,
Robyn

P.S. I also shared a blog entry on Copper West about my baby bedding dilemma!!
