Our summer has been completely packed…mostly with weddings! The summer started out perfectly in June when I got to be my best friend’s Maid of Honor – it was such a fun-packed weekend! Then one day after that wedding, my Mom and I headed down to Iowa and Kansas for 5 days! While down there, I took my re-certification test for my ultrasounding business and then headed to Kansas to spend some time touring and visiting with an ultrasound girlfriend who ranches in Kansas!

And since then, we have been attending friend’s weddings almost every weekend – they have been a blast and absolutely wonderful! What can I say, I love weddings and I sometimes get very emotional when I see the bride walking down the aisle – so much happiness and excitement in their expressions. Then my next favorite thing to do it look up the aisle at the groom and catch his expression – quite often I see tears of overwhelming joy and that usually ends up in me being in tears! I’m a sucker, I know!

Damien and I also had a chance to camp down at Lake Metigoshe that sits right on the Canadian/US border and it was my first time there – it was beautiful! Damien has friends that are twin brothers and their family has a cabin down there, so it was a fun-filled weekend of hanging with friends and boating – totally secluded and away from the “everyday” life! That same weekend we took in the National Junior Limousin show and I had the chance to visit with the wonderful Laura :)

Oh and I can’t forget about August Long – I headed up to Neepawa, MB for an All-Breeds Junior cattle show to help out as a ring-person – I love being able to give back to breed associations & 4-H by helping juniors!

Next up this weekend……AC/DC!! Woohoo!

I have had so many amazing getaways this summer! I’ve been truly fortunate.

Started off with a long weekend in Washington DC where my cousin toured me through the city sites, and then we spent a day at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate. What a phenomenal part of the world!

At the end of June I had the pleasure of spending a wonderful evening with you and John — it was so great to see you!

Then I enjoyed a couple of days at the World Angus Forum, hosted at Spruce Meadows, visiting with clients, friends, exhibitors and international guests.

The Ag Media Summit was in Fort Worth the first five days of August — a great time to reconnect with old friends, meet new people, learn tips to make my business more successful and take advantage of some great Texas food and shopping!

From there I went directly to Manitoba to visit my preggo cousin and her hubby, and also attend the Canadian Limousin meetings and Junior Conference.

Now I am home and looking forward to catching up with you and the other ladies next Monday at the CWFC tournament!
